A contract is an agreement between two or more parties in which an offer is made and accepted, whereby each party mutually benefits. Contracts can be written or verbal and in some instances, they may be just a plain understanding between the parties. Contracts can also take many forms whether drafted as a lease, a promissory note, an independent contractor agreement, a shareholder loan or employment agreement among other types. To be enforceable however, certain contracts must be in writing and contain unambiguous terms.
